Seedlings Workshop

The Seedlings Workshop aims to create a peer-to-peer environment for presenting and developing works in progress. Much like a studio crit, this session centres reflective research practices, collaborative engagement and constructive feedback. The workshop is designed to be an inclusive and supportive environment, that encourages interdisciplinary dialogue. The session will provide an opportunity to experiment with new methodologies, test theoretical frameworks, and consider alternative approaches to art, architecture, and design histories. Modelled on the Seedlings: Architectural History in Conversation session from the 13th Annual Conference of the All-Ireland Architecture Research Group (AIARG) 2024, this workshop builds on a tradition of scholarly exchange.

Participants are invited to present a three-minute ‘seedling’—a snapshot of their ongoing research. This should be accompanied by a single A4 page, designed in any imaginative way the presenter sees fit, to visually or textually represent their research concept. We encourage participants to embrace creative and innovative means of presentation, whether through diagrams, sketches, textual abstracts, or mixed media formats.

Please submit proposals by Thursday 13 February 2025.
